INITIAL CONSULTATION

Each project begins with a meeting at the client’s property to get to know each other and to discuss requirements and budget.

This provides the opportunity to learn about the client’s way of life, tastes and their requirements. At this point we explore the client’s ideas and determine the level of involvement required from us. We will often take measurements and photographs of the site. Initial consultations usually last 1-2 hours.

Following the consultation the client will receive a design brief and proposal. Fee details will be provided.

DESIGN RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

Following the initial proposal we work, together with the client, to determine the design direction and propose a design concept.

PLANNING

Once the initial concept is agreed and confirmed we proceed to draw up floor plans and layouts for optimum use of space. This may include 2D elevation sketches if necessary. A lighting and electrical plan is also prepared.

SCHEME DESIGN

Following confirmation of layout we move to design of the scheme. This requires extensive research into all aspects of the design including floor and wall coverings, furniture and soft furnishings, artwork and lighting. Costing options are explored.

PRESENTATION

All details of the proposed scheme are then presented to the client. The design is discussed from initial brief and concept to space planning and final scheme design. Samples of fabrics and wall and floor finishes are presented.

REVIEW & FINAL SPECIFICATION

Incorporating client feedback, the design is finalised and costing information prepared.

IMPLEMENTATION

If commissioned to implement the project we either work together with the client’s tradespeople or propose our own. Dependent upon the nature of the project this stage may involve the production of technical design drawings where necessary, lighting and electrical plans, final specifications of materials, decorators schedule, production of a final work schedule. We coordinate the timely delivery of furniture, accessories and soft furnishings.
